Vacation over, stuff about me, looking ahead

I was on vacation for the 4th, and therefore, have not written anything for the past week or so. There are many sports topics to touch on, mostly regarding the Orioles and Lebron’s “decision,” and I’ll be writing a bunch about those topics over the next few days.

I thought this was an appropriate time to share some things regarding this blog, and also I’d like to talk a little about some opportunities that are going on for me personally.

For the past few months, I have been working as an intern with Fox 1370, specifically Jerry Coleman. I have had the opportunity to get a look at the sports scene from the inside. I have been covering quite a few Orioles games from the press box, and recording the post game press conferences and locker-room interviews. I had the opportunity to head down to Owings Mills for the Ravens OTA’s, and I’ll be going out to Training Camp quite a bit as the end of the month nears.

I will also be doing some stuff involving the Wizards and Terps this coming fall and winter.

For someone that has grown up as passionate sports fan, obviously, this has been a great opportunity that I am not taking lightly. If nothing else comes of it, I am getting tremendous experience, and meeting many people who may have the ability to help me down the road.

Something else that I am very excited about, is the opportunity that I will have by the end of the month to blog daily on the “Sports With Coleman” site.

www.sportswithcoleman.com is going to be a brand new site, and its launch will coincide with the start of 2010 Ravens Training Camp. I have had a hand in designing the site, and I feel that it really is going to have the opportunity to grow and attract visitors. There are many features on the site that are necessary in this new media world of sports journalism, and I could not be more excited to get started.

When I do blog for Sports With Coleman, I will be putting the links on here, and I encourage all of my readers, after the new site is launched, to check out not only my blog on the site, which will be titled “Pete’s Perspective,” but also the rest of the features on the site as well.

As for Charm City Sports Talk, I’m still going to be keeping this going as well. I have had great feedback since I started blogging last November, and I feel that I have developed a modest following that has steadily grown over the course of the last 9 months.

I recently tweaked the layout, which I believe has spiced up the look just a bit, which is always a plus. As always, I am open to all comments/suggestions/feedback concerning the site.

Thanks for the continued support, and thanks, as always, for reading. If no one read this blog, I would not have any reason to continue writing, and therefore, would not have received the great opportunities that I have had come my way in recent months. I hope you continue visiting Charm City Sports Talk, and also check out Pete’s Perspective when it debuts along with the new Sports With Coleman Site.
